Privacy Policy

TrackAI ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data: Email address and optional display name when you sign up.
Pin Data: Locations, species, outcomes, notes, and photos you choose to log.
Trail Cam Images: Photos you upload for AI analysis. Images are stored securely and only accessible to you (and group members if shared).
Device Data: We use your device's GPS (with your permission) to show your location on the map. We do not track your location in the background.
Settings: Home state, species preferences, and app configuration stored locally on your device.
Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your device's push subscription (endpoint URL and encryption keys) to deliver nightly score alerts. You can revoke this at any time from the Settings tab.
Error Logs: If a JavaScript error occurs, we log the error message, page URL, and browser type to diagnose bugs. These logs are automatically deleted after 14 days.
Usage Activity: We record when you last used the app and your platform (web, iOS, Android) to ensure nightly scores only run for active users.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide hunting intelligence, weather, season data, and map features.
To analyze trail cam images using AI (Claude Vision) and return results to you.
To sync your pins and groups across devices via Supabase (our backend).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

3. Third-Party Services

Supabase: Database and authentication (hosted in US East).
Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions. We do not store your credit card information — Stripe handles all payment data securely.
Open-Meteo: Weather data (no personal data sent, only coordinates).
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim: Geocoding and map tiles.
Anthropic (Claude): AI analysis of trail cam images and hunt intelligence. When you use AI features (Field Advisor, Trail Cam Analyzer, Season Debrief), your pin coordinates, species data, hunt outcomes, and visit history are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic processes this data per their API terms and does not use it to train models. No data is retained beyond the API request.
Resend: Transactional email delivery (re-engagement emails, account notifications). Your email address is used only to send emails you have requested or that are necessary for the service. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security (RLS) — only you can access your own data. All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption. Trail cam images are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete individual pins, trail cam images, or your entire account at any time from the Settings tab. Account deletion removes all associated data permanently.

6. Children's Privacy

TrackAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — all your pins, outcomes, and trail cam analyses are visible in the app.
Delete your data — delete individual items or your entire account from Settings.
Export your data — export pins to GPX or JSON from the Map tab.
Opt out of AI analysis — simply don't use AI features. Core mapping works without AI.
Unsubscribe from emails — use the one-click unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us directly.
Disable push notifications — revoke notification permission in your browser or device settings, or turn them off in the TrackAI Settings tab.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. To request deletion of your data, use the in-app account deletion feature or email us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
